What to remember when arranging lighting in a high interior?
The right play of light allows you to bring out the best in the interior. How to do it? Do not mount the luminaires too high, so as not to expose yourself to the problem of changing the bulb or wiping off dust. Also, think carefully about the distribution of light sources. Place them in places where you need the most light, i.e. where you actually work, read, eat or perform hygiene activities. For rooms with high ceilings, choose more powerful LED bulbs. Remember to hang the lamps above the dining table optimally at a height of approx. 0.8 m, and above the free space - at a height of approx. 2.1 m.
Protip: by directing the light to shorter walls, you will optically reduce differences in the proportions of the room. If you want to create a cozy atmosphere in the interior, put on lamps with light-absorbing lampshades and light bulbs with warm light. On the other hand, for a modern austerity, try clear shades and cool-colored bulbs.
Central lighting - how to approach the subject?
The high ceiling, otherwise known as the cathedral ceiling, opens up a wide field for arrangement. Here, even XXL lamps will not overwhelm the space! If you also care about a spectacular look, choose decorative pendant lamps. The ones with adjustable cable length are perfect for lighting high rooms. Spider lamps, which create a very decorative effect, and at the same time ensure proper distribution of light, are also perfect. In loft interiors, models with a designer braided cable, with exposed decorative bulbs, look natural. You can also hang single overhangs in a cascade, thanks to which you will get an interesting composition and an equally powerful portion of light.
Do you prefer more classic solutions? We recommend a large chandelier, such as Grande and Onyx 5 by KASPA. In this way, you will attract the attention of guests with an effective design. In the case of ceiling lamps, a good choice are those equipped with several light sources with the option of adjusting the angle of incidence. Thanks to this, you will evenly illuminate selected parts of the room. Spotlights work best in this role, e.g. ROLL or SPARK slats by KASPA, they are a great complement to modern and industrial arrangements.
Auxiliary lighting
The higher and larger the space you want to illuminate, the more additional light sources you need. This is where sconces come in handy - mounted directly above the places or objects that you want to emphasize, e.g. near the desk, over the kitchen countertop or the console. Pay attention to wall lamps with a movable arm, such as Gaspar by KASPA or sconces from the Arigato collection, which you can conveniently control. S14 luminaires by Creative-Cables with effective tube bulbs will be used to emphasize paintings or photos. A high ceiling means high walls, and it's the perfect material to get creative with the File (Creative-Cables) collection, which you can read more about here.
The next step is floor lamps placed near strategic points, such as a sofa or an armchair. The character of the loft interior will be added by those referring to the iconic factory lamps, e.g. Fotos by Auhilion, or lamps on a fashionable tripod by Loftlight. Last, but not least table lamps. They will illuminate the space from the bedside table, desk or chest of drawers. Do you like geometric minimalism? Look around for UMMO luminaires, e.g. KELLO ST, ERTER ST, SAKOSI ST. If you are closer to the glamor style, see the SAWA and LORA models from the KASPA brand.
