The Polish lighting market is thriving! This is all thanks to brands that aren't afraid to experiment and invite designers with unique visions to collaborate. Together, they create lamps that captivate with their designs and are long-lasting. These collections garner industry accolades and are eagerly used in architects' projects. Below, we've gathered the most interesting collaborations to showcase just how much is happening in Polish design!

UMMO lighting x SALAK Studio

UMMO Lighting is a Polish brand that consistently develops its own lighting collections. The brand is distinguished by its attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and modern approach to form. Michał Markiewicz, co-founder of Pracownia Światła and the KoloroweKable.pl store, is behind the brand's designs, which further ties UMMO to our history

Among UMMO Lighting's projects, it's worth highlighting its collaboration with SALAK Studio, led by Alicja Korbut – a designer with experience gained in design studios in the UK, among others. Today, SALAK is not only a design studio but also an independent interior design brand that designs and manufactures furniture.

As part of this cooperation, two unique collections were created:

An unique shape of SALLO was inspired by the shape of a seashell. The collection comprises pendant lamps, wall lamps, table lamps and floor lamps, available in classic or XL sizes, in two versatile colors: black and white. Its distinctive features include streamlined lampshades and a balanced line that complements minimalist, Japandi, and modern classic spaces. SALLO was recognized by the jury of the 2022 Dobry Wzór (Good Design) competition, making it to the finals!

The second collection, co-created with the SALAK studio, is SUGURI. In the pendant lamps from this series, milky-white spheres "grow" on a metal frame, like fruit on a branch. It's no coincidence that the collection's name comes from the Japanese word for currant. All fixtures are available in a subdued palette of black and white, with variants featuring varying numbers of shades.

KASPA x Grynasz Studio i Wojciech Mierzwa

KASPA is a renowned Polish lighting manufacturer, known for its innovative approach to design, high-quality workmanship, and collaboration with local artists. The brand operates on two fronts: under the KASPA banner, it offers collections for a wide range of interior design applications, while the more exclusive KASPA for Designers line offers designer collections created in collaboration with renowned designers.

LEGRA, a collection designed by Wojciech Mierzwa, literally draws from nature. Each fixture is based on the original "Full of Tradition" terrazzo, created by the HANK studio. Fragments of ash, walnut, and fruit trees are embedded in the structure, and the whole is crowned by a hand-blown opal glass sphere. The lamps are available in several variants: pendants, wall sconces, and ceiling lamps. The designs in this series celebrate the nobility of the material and timeless simplicity.

APOLIN is the result of a collaboration with Grynasz Studio, the duo of Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz. This collection is inspired by the design of the 1950s–1970s, particularly lamps from the MEOS and ZAOS factories. The lampshades feature distinctive faceted surfaces and rounded lines and are available in fashionable colors such as cobalt blue, sage, or brushed steel. The modern technology used in the lamps allows for adjustable light color and intensity.

These two collections are not only a response to current trends but also an example of how they can be creatively developed. KASPA demonstrates that Polish lighting can be ambitious, aesthetically pleasing, and surprisingly fresh.

ARTERA x Polish designers

ARTERA is a brand with over 40 years of history that specializes in modern design while maintaining artisanal lighting production. It is owned by the family-owned Aldex Dyderscy company, known for its use of Polish glass and components from local suppliers.

One of the brand's distinguishing features is regular collaboration with Polish designers, such as:

• Mikołaj Nicer (Nicer Design),
• Agnieszka Jurczyk-Wojtak,
• Wojciech Błaszczyk (Sedno Studio).

Each of these collaborations is proof that design and production can go hand in hand. The frames are modern, full of character, but not overly flashy.

Among the collections, the ZAC series by Agnieszka Jurczyk-Wojtak is worth noting. It's an interesting example of playing with geometry. Spherical lampshades are set on a wide, step-shaped frame at the edges. The collection includes pendant lamps, floor lamps, desk lamps, and wall lamps. This allows you to maintain consistent lighting throughout the room with lamps from the ZAC collection.

In the FLO collection, designed by Wojciech Błaszczyk, nature's inspiration meets contemporary design. The lampshades resemble plant buds just before bloom. The original form is perfectly complemented by a simple metal base in muted colors. The series includes pendant, wall, table, and floor lamps, making it easy to create lighting solutions for any interior.
