The interior design trends of 2021 have moved seamlessly into 2022. In addition to the development and continuation of what we know from the previous season, we also encounter a few novelties. What arrangements will reign supreme this year? Which lighting is "on top" not only in the flat scale? :) Read on!
Slow life in harmony with nature
A return to nature and ecological change is staying with us for good. It is not just fashion, but a compulsion to save the future of our planet. Minimalism in the spirit of slow life is also a theme this year. At the moment, vintage furniture, items made from natural materials or recycled materials are most in demand. When it comes to lighting, our grandmothers' lamps are unfortunately not the most functional. Sometimes they can even be dangerous due to worn-out wires and plugs. Therefore, when it comes to light fittings and fixtures, it is advisable to opt for new products, but ones of high quality and made primarily from natural materials. Lamps made of wood, concrete, rattan or cardboard would be a great option. When it comes to accessories, retro ceramic fittings and braided cables made from natural materials such as cotton or jute will work well. We also have good news for all those who have fallen in love with the japandi trend. In 2022, this style will continue to feature in the most designer flats in various corners of the world.
Crazy 80s
You wouldn't have guessed it, 1980s-inspired design is back in favour. Expressive colours, ironic inspirations from modernism and art deco, the cult of Milan's Memphis Group, futurism with a pinch of kitsch - in 2022 they will take us back four decades. Although the style today is somewhat pared down, it is still permissible and even advisable to use abstract patterns and eclectic combinations of objects in interiors. In the 1980s, form was king. For this reason, all sorts of unusual solids in juicy colours for decoration and lighting will fit in perfectly with the desired style. The 80s décor is an option for those who are not afraid of design with a touch of humour.
Black details
In contrast to the electrifying colours abounding in the 1980s, there is a focus on black details. A similar design treatment has been seen in the projects of many architects for some time now, but it is in 2022 that black accents are becoming one of the hottest hits. They add character to the interior and break up the monotony. They go well with both pastels and juicy colours. Opt for black accents when choosing lamps, framed mirrors, fittings and lighting accessories. We assure you that it's a simple recipe for sprucing up your décor without doing a major overhaul or spending millions.
Not only Vera peri
You probably already know that the Pantone Institute has declared 2022 the year of the colour Vera Peri. This lavender purple is not the only colour that will be at the peak of popularity in the coming season. In addition to Very Peri, this year will certainly not be short of colours such as dusty mint, light brick-red, muted ochre, delicate shades of pinks, lilies and lilacs. This palette contrasts well with black details and fits in well with japanese or vintage style interiors. The dusty pastel colours go best with simple, geometric fittings.
3D printed design
In 2022, objects made using 3D printing technology are set to enter our homes and everyday use for good. This is confirmed, among other things, by the high-profile collection of Audrey Large, dubbed the first lady of printing. If you want to invest in this type of design, you do not have to reach only for foreign brands and designers. 3D printing is developing rapidly in Poland. A good example is the lighting brand Altrilight produced from biodegradable biomass using large-scale 3D printing technology. In our opinion, this will be the new dimension of ecology.
Which 2022 trend do you like best? :)
